Jerry
Adamson, Eric Storer, and Todd Adamson have begun the latest journey
in the cattle industry. LowLine cattle are a small breed of cattle
that come from New South Wales, Australia. They came out of a
research station from registered Aberdeen Angus seedstock that
were originally purchased from the Glencarnock Angus herd in Brandon,
Manitoba, Canada in the 1920's.

Although the LowLine cattle are a small version of
the Angus cattle, they are not dwarfs. They were bred by animal
scientists at the Trangie Agricultural Research Centre. They don't
carry the dwarfism gene and therefore there is no risk of genetically
generated deformity or abortion. Calf loss is extremely small
and even the heifers show ease of calving. The newborn calves
are very vigorous and healthy.

These cattle have a quiet disposition, but they have
a lot more to offer beyond the point that they will make excellent
pets. There is a phenomenal breeders market to develop and expand
a substantial LowLine cow herd in America so that eventually LowLine
cows can produce market animals for a rapidly growing market for
the exclusive, smaller cuts of highly marbled, lean beef for the
modern consumer.

You may be asking yourself if there is a market for the LowLine meat. The answer is YES. Due to their smaller more convenient carcass size, LowLines would contribute to the marketability of a locker beef business by accommodating both household budgets and the economical use of home freezer space. |
